2021 Timbers SEASONAL CREATIVE

After a year like 2020 the landscape of sports began with a rough start. Travel restrictions and no in-stadium fans takes a toll on the sports industry. Nevertheless, the 2021 MLS Season continues and so did the Portland Timbers.

The seasonal creative leaned heavily on the 2021 home jersey. The two-tone use of our primary green and new night green is a strong element in our creative. We also pulled graphics from the kit trims and applied a regal look. An homage to what some of the fans call the squad—the King of Clubs.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER // SEASONAL IDENTITY

2021 HOME JERSEY

The two-tone jersey brings us a new color that we’ve rarely used in our brand, the night green. Then we created a pattern using the icons on our jock tag and we brought in the foggy trees to tie in the rest of our seasonal look.

GAME DAY OPEN VIDEO

In collaboration with our video team I was able to design the motion graphics for our game day open video. This is what is shown on the video wall in-stadium before kickoff.

GAME DAY SOCIAL GRAPHICS

During the course of a Timbers game day, the social team was equipped with graphic templates. This was shared on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. We’ve also applied a gameday grid on Instagram to contrast our non-gameday posts.

MOMENTS OF THE SEASON

An MLS season is filled with signings, milestones and every moment in between. Here are a couple of those moments in our seasonal creative.
